The best online shopping experience
June 26th, 2009Two weeks ago I tweeted about the most amazing online/offline experience I had ever had at sofa.com. I got a-lot of abuse in the office about being such a geek, so I thought I might elaborate about what made it so special.
Looking for a sofa is not normally a fun experience. For most Londoners you have a few choices:
- IKEA – they last for about 30 seconds before you assemble them only to find out that everyone and their little brother has the same one.
- DFS - enough said.
- Some over priced store like Harrods - I actually looked at a sofa that cost £11,000.
- Auction houses like Lots Road - inconsistent stock (obviously) but you can find some seriously cool sofas. However, with the auctioneer fees, transport and reupholstering, this can prove to be surprisingly expensive and time consuming.
And then there was sofa.com!

Working in New Business I have to endure a lot of soulless networking events and conferences, which isn’t to say that there aren’t any good ones, Likemind and
